Shop Local

I spent my Saturday afternoon this past weekend at the beautiful Trapp and Company store here in Kansas City.  Celebrating their Spring into Summer event, the store was full of brightly colored clothing, décor, and of course flowers. I want to thank all of you that stopped by to shop and visit.  It was a fun day.  Being the day before Mother's day the floral department was operating at maximum.  I could have spent more time back there watching the artist arrange gorgeous arrangements. If you weren't able to visit.... no worries. I have plenty of visuals for you today!  This is only a snap shot of the store and you must see it in person.  Lets get right to it shall we?

This is the same sweater tunic I styled here but in white.

This floral arrangement was my favorite as you can imagine with the pretty pinks.

Don't forget dear old dad.... Father's day is coming up and there is a great section for the fellas!

Just me hanging out in the flower cooler.

This is only a portion of the wall of Trapp candles and scents.  I found a new favorite Black Pepper.  But I still love the orange vanilla.

Spring Sweater

When Trapp and Company invited me to their store to select an outfit I was pleasantly surprised at their selection.  Upon first entering the store the smell of sweet floral encompassed me. Known for their gorgeous floral arrangements and Trapp Candles, it was no wonder the smell was so good. Once I made it thru the beautiful home décor to the women's department it became a color explosion. Comprised of a wide range of designers including Dizzie Lizzie, Trina Turk, Hobo, Bianca and Gretchen Scott, I found it difficult to not want one of everything. Their fashion department consists of colorful scarfs, handbags, jewelry and women’s ready to wear.  Literally you could put together your outfit from head to toe. With designs such as Julie Vos and Karin Sultane I was in heaven.
Jane, a member of the retail department, was so helpful in assisting me with colors and styles. This is one of the outfits I selected... well actually Jane selected it and I loved it from the minute I put it on. It is also available in white, olive, and denim.  One of my favorite details to a great shopping experience is knowing you are not in a cookie cutter outfit; this is what makes Trapp and Company so unique.

As a reminder, their Spring Into Summer Event is this weekend.  Trapp and Company is kicking off the event today with mimosas and macarons.  You can see a list of full event details here.  I will be there Saturday from 11-2 so be sure to stop by and say "Hi"...and if you don't see me.... I am probably in a dressing room wanting to add even more to my closet. Haha!! I hope to see you all on Saturday.  If Saturday is not convenient for you, please remember they will be celebrating their Spring Into Summer Event all weekend long!

Located on 4110 Main Street, right around the corner from the Plaza, Trapp and Company is definitely going to be my new place to shop.

Pink Drivers

Two words..... Pink Drivers!  When I first saw these I knew they were made for me.  Literally!  M. Gemi shoes are all hand made in Italy by family owned factories in small batches.  Nestled in a few select regions and towns, M. Gemi works with local artisans to create a line that allows you to stand out amongst the crowd.  They don't believe in different shoes for different seasons.  Instead they release a new edition every week!  Ummmm.... how cool is that?

If you are like me, you sometimes need to clean out your shoes to make room for new.... so what do you do with your gently worn shoes?  With every M. Gemi order a pre-paid poly bag is included.  Simply choose a pair of shoes to donate to help woman who need professional attire as they develop their careers, insert them into the bag, and hand to your postman.

Their #makesomeroom program not only made me feel good about my pink drivers, but knowing I am helping someone else was a double bonus.  I did send a pair of dress shoes to them, and plan on sending more.  I believe the right shoe can make a difference in your life and by sharing you are giving a less fortunate women a  chance to succeed.  If you want to learn more about the program, or help by sending shoes, go to their website Mgemi.com/makesomeroom and learn more about how you can help.  I have always loved working with companies that give back and by helping woman achieve economic independence warms my heart.   Thanks M. Gemi!  Oh, and when Gab asked me to step in the grass to take these pics I about flipped.   These bad boys are not up for stomping in grass.  I actually thought about ordering a second pair as a back up because at some point they will no longer look this good!  I'm crazy like that!

Mood Board / Master Bedroom

Happy Monday.  I spent my weekend in Tulsa and have a full heart after spending time with my family there.  If you follow me on instagram you know that no trip home is complete without stopping off to see Jill at Rustic Cuff.  I have lots of new goodies to share soon. Today I am sharing my Master Bedroom mood board.  If you have been following along with me for a while now you know I have been working on my Master bedroom.  Yes...I know I started it last spring, and yes.... I know this seems to be a long time, but trust me when I say I think it was worth it.  A few details changed from the original plan in my head and I am glad I was patient with the ideas.    I knew what I was looking for in the overall look and I wanted to be careful with the amount of pink I add as well as the shade.  It's almost complete and I can't wait to share it in the coming weeks!  Stay tuned!
