Stokke/Tripp Trapp

August 30, 2013
I am so excited to share this review with you!  I have been patiently waiting to take pictures of my little guy in different stages of his little world in his fabulous Stokke Tripp Trapp chair!  My grandsons are stair stepped in age from just turning one, to five!  The versatility and the unique design of the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair was a perfect combination for my house!  I started using my Tripp Trapp chair as soon as it arrived.  My youngest little guy was just old enough to need a highchair.

As he grew, the chair grew with him.  Oh and did I mention it pulls right up to your table?  Same height and brings them closer to the rest of the family meal!  Awesome feature!  But what I really like about the Tripp Trapp is with the different ages of my grandsons the chair will work for all three!  The baby set detaches from the chair making it a safe stool for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. The shoulder straps keeps the boys safely in their chair.  And for my oldest who is 5 it's a perfect seat with a properly adjusted foot rest.  No dangling feet and better support.   I told you it was awesome!  I love how it grows with them.  When I no longer am in need of a high chair it is an addition for any age to the table.

So let me bullet point my perks to the Tripp Trapp Chair

  • Safety shoulder straps
  • Pulls directly to the table keeping the kids at the table instead of removed by a tray
  • Adjust to the age and size of your baby/toddler/little boy
  • Stylish.  I choose the dark mahogany with the dot washable seat cover in black and brown
  • Ergonomically correct for little legs and feet to rest
  • A true investment as it becomes a chair for an adult

The list can go on, but these were my top perks!

If you are in the market for a good highchair and you really want something that will look good and be functional I truly think this is the chair for you.  It is an investment, I won't lie, but think of how long it will be in your kitchen and you won't have to worry with large tray high chairs, and boosters for chairs when they move to the table!  I did all that with my sons, and I am glad to have this for my grandsons!

Stokke is a Norwegian Company located in the northwestern part of Norway.  They have worldwide distribution through selected retails, so easy to find, and easy to order right from their site!   Established in 1932, The Stokke family has owned the company from the beginning.  SIne 2006, they have focused exclusively on children's furniture.  They produce a wide range of furniture and I love the round crib, to their strollers that not only bring the height of the baby up, but turns them around for you to see them too!

I wish I had know of Stokke when I was raising my boys, but I am very glad to know of them for my grandson's.

A little Leopard Sweater

August 29, 2013
This sweater is the perfect color combo for me!  Leopard and Pink!  I have loved this Charlotte Tarantola sweater ever since I first laid eyes on it in the store several years ago.  I look forward to wearing it every year, and hate having to put it up at the end of the spring summer season.  This is the first time I have paired it with yellow, and The Ann Taylor tank turned out to be a perfect match! I usually opt for a black tank, or a white. Boring I know!

Sweater Charlotte Tarantola ~ Skinnies Seven ~ Tank Ann Taylor ~ Sandals Sam Edelman ~ Snakeskin cuff and leather wrap Rustic Cuff c/o ~ Lilly and Laura bracelet ~

Oh ya know, just another glorious day at the lake!  To bad its just for pics and not a vacation day, with a boat, cocktails, friends, and good music!  With all the rain we have received lately everything is so green and lush.  Usually this time of the year everything is brown and dying from the heat.  I know my allergies are not happy about everything still being in bloom!

School has officially started, and I think we are settling into a nice routine.  Sometimes it all feels so surreal to think that I only have two more years of a son living at home.  Well, let me rephrase that, only two more years until he is graduated from HS!  IF I am lucky, he will move into a dorm at college, and I will move to the beach somewhere! A girl can dream can't she?

My youngest grandson will turn one next week. yup, you read that right!  It just seems like yesterday I was sharing his arrival with you here.  The gramps and I went shopping for that special first birthday gift last weekend.  Um hello!? When did toys get so dang expensive?  We wanted to get this  Radio Flyer  grow with my tricycle, but it has been a while since I bought ride on toys and I guess I was shocked at the cost!   So the shopping continues!  I am looking forward to the long weekend to get caught up on what seems like everything in life!  WIsh me luck!  What are your long weekend plans?  Anything fun?

Four Favorites / Labor Day

August 28, 2013

Tuxedo Pants    Steel Toe Shoes    Words   Lips   Nails
Happy Wednesday.  This weeks theme is Labor day, and I can't help but think of the coming of fall when Labor day arrives.  The pools close for the season, the weather begins to get chillier at night, and the rich colors of the season present themselves in fashion.
This time of the year means time to put away the sandals, well for some at least.  I will still wear some for a while to come.  These pixie pants are a perfect fall addition, and love the thought of darker nails and a richer lip color!

Mint and Cobalt

Tee Splendid ~  Jeans Target ~  Bracelet Rustic Cuff c/o ~ Bag Gucci ~ Sandals Sam Edelman ~ Sunnies Chanel ~ Lips Chanel ~ Streets courtesy of downtown KC

I wore this fun summery combo on day two of Go Blog Social.  It was perfect for being comfortable.  The Tee is from Splendid and it is The. Softest. Tee. Ever.!!!  I have only a few Splendid shirts in my closet, but every single one of them is buttery soft and colorful!  I would love to have more!  I paired this tee with my skinny jeans from Target, slipped on my Sam Edelman gladiator sandals and cutie patootie done!  I rarely am without a bracelet and this outfit didn't need a stack of color so I opted for a gold cutout from my cuff collection!

This outfit will be on repeat until the weather turns to fall here.  Don't you just love when an outfit comes together so seamlessly?  I will transition the tee for fall by layering it with a few jackets and cardigan.  It is that time to start thinking about layering up, and even though it is scorching hot here this week, I am thinking all fall!  My pedicure is about to go dark!!

Have you started the fall transition?  I would love to know what's on your fall wish list!

BaubleBar Giveaway

August 23, 2013
So earlier this week I alluded to the fact that this BaubleBar necklace could make an appearance as a fabulous statement necklace giveaway!  Well Today it is!  I won this at the Go Blog Social conference I attended that I shared here with you, and today I want to give you a chance to win and add it to your jewelry collection!

I think it is pretty, and will make a great addition to someones wardrobe!   I honestly do not change up necklaces very often. I have several that are sentimental and very special to me, but as far as a chunky necklace, it just doesn't lay right on my neck. I honestly would keep this is there wasn't any purple in it. I just can't stand anything purple.   I love a variety of statement necklaces, and currently am looking for this one, but I would never wear this, and that my friends, would be a waste of a great piece of jewelry.  Lucky for you!!

You know the drill, follow the instructions in the rafflecopter form, and good luck!

Fancy Pants

August 22, 2013
These Ann Taylor fancy pants are one of my faves right now.  They are deep navy and I love all the possibilities you can coordinate with them.  You know I have talked about the no denim policy in my office, so I try to incorporate denim when ever I am out of the office.  I wore this combo to day one of Go Blog Social.  I have since worn them to the office, but switched up the denim for a white cardigan.  Not the same punch this outfit has, but hey, If I could change the denim rule at the office, I would!!!

Oh yeah, I popped my color!  So 80ish!

As long as I can remember I have been a fan of printed pants!  I once had a pair I took to Vegas and all I can remember is that I felt like I matched the carpet!!  Those were some busy britches!! Whats your favorite pair of printed pants? Or do you prefer solids?

Four Favorites / Fall

August 21, 2013

Belt Bag    Pants     Sweater     Boots

Happy Wednesday lovelies!  I really can't believe I am already looking at fall fashion, but the temperatures have been unseasonably cool for August, and cooler nights and cooler mornings has me actually a little giddy inside for fall.  That is totally not like me.  I love fall, but I am always sad to see summer go. I am already looking at fall decoration DIY projects, and thinking of spiced pumpkin lattes, and chunky sweaters!  It was a no brainer these Ann Taylor pants were going to be on my faves list.  Love them!! I cannot wait to style them, I only hope the office doesn't get sick of me wearing them!!

Ok, so before you go twisting your head  with the belt bag, let me start by saying it is a Blair Ritchey fabulous design.  You can lock it, and the  bag is actually detachable too!  It is the grown up version of a fanny pack, with panache and class!  Sling it low on the hip, go out for an evening for a late summer concert and dance in the streets with your hands free!   Oh yeah, this is super fab in my book!!

This C Wonder sweater has three things going for it!  Frenchie, Pink and crown!  Super duper cute! I am looking forward to adding new sweaters this fall to my closet, and this cute fella is a must!

Rounding out my four faves is the ever popular, and still a fall staple, riding boot.  These Frye back zip boots with the logo are stunning! I am more comfortable with a zipper in my boots than a slip on.  I don't have fat calves, but I like how much easier they are to get on and off than a pull on.

So tell me, whats on your fall favorites list?  Anything caught your eye I should now about?  I would love to hear what your falling for!!!  haha, sorry but I couldn't resist!

Linking up with the ever cute Ashlyn and Kristin today!  Check out there faves!

Go Blog Social Recap

August 20, 2013

These lovely ladies and I attended Go Blog Social right here in lovely downtown KC last week along with about 80 other ladies!  It was a two day event and held at the Hotel Phillips.  THe weather was gorgeous, the venue beautiful, and the speakers amazing. Two days packed with laughter, girl time, sharing tips and tricks, and learning from some amazing ladies what works for them.

This was my first time attending a blogger conference so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew what I wanted as a take away from the event.  I wanted to network, learn from woman that were experienced in areas that I wasn't, and maybe learn a few things about myself along the way.  Friday morning we met for a coffee before heading into the conference hall and take outfit pics of course!

If you know me, then you know that I don't have a problem meeting new people, or making new friends, so the hopes of networking was going to be easy for me.  At first glance I clearly knew I was the oldest blogger in the room.  Not that that was a problem, I know that for the most part this is a younger generations venue.  I didn't care!  It was only after lunch and ladies took different seats in the room that we may have spotted one, just one lady that appeared to be older than me!  Haha!

The speakers were engaging, and informed about their topics.  I had heard or knew personally over half the speakers, so it was good to listen from a business perspective to my friends, rather than a friendly conversation of sharing ideas and what works!  Meg was up in the morning and did a great job of not only engaging us, she was delightful as always!

Meg Biram presented on Saturday and this was my second time to hear her share great information.  I was excited to catch up with her, and compare what I had taken away from my first seminar, and see if and how I was applying what I learned last year!  I was a good study!  If you ever have to opportunity to take one of Meg's seminars I encourage you to do so!

These were on her feet, don't you just love them?

Many of the sponsors of the event were offering giveaways thru-out the day.  The only problem with that was you needed a good strong Internet connection!  Oh, and you needed to be able to tweet faster than a room full of 20 and 30 year olds!  Now you get the oldest in the room comment!  Poor Erin was having a frustrating time on Friday, and I, by my own admission was not the fastest tweeter in the room, so I shared my phone with her to tweet to win!  A little pay it forward I thought, and it must have been good karma because Saturday I did win by my own fast tweeting fingers!

Thanks BaubleBar, for sponsoring the event and I won this statement necklace!  I'm not a statement necklace gal generally, so you might just see this baby very soon up for grabs in a giveaway on the blog! It is super cute and colorful, so you better keep a look out for it very soon!

Jeanette of J's Everyday Fashion was Friday's keynote speaker.  I will sum it up like this...... Funny, witty, dry sense of humor, (I enjoy), can goof on herself, genuine, lovely, and so motivating!  I enjoyed her so much and cannot wait to pick up this book she recommended!  Great speaker again! Definitely check out her blog!

Sandy, Erin, Myself, and Meg taking every photo op available!

My birthday was Saturday, and Erin and I carpooled downtown at it was her day to drive.  When I opened up the car door this is what great me!  What a sweet surprise!  Oh and remember when I posted about this necklace? Yeah, that's Erin's neck and I love that necklace!  Unfortunately, I am still unable to find it unless I am willing to pay big for it, or buy a knock off, which if you know me, you know that isn't my style!

Have you attended a blogger conference?  What was your biggest take away?  I am thinking about traveling to attend another and would love to hear your comments on Alt or Blogher.

Weekend Love

August 19, 2013
I wish my weekends were longer, but don't we all?!  Happy Monday friends. I had a heart filled weekend for sure.  My oldest son and his family came for a visit on Saturday.  My oldest grandson begins kindergarten on Monday and he is so excited.  I had all three of the babies saturday and we set up every little tykes toys in the backyard and the kiddie pool for them to play in.  They played for a while, but what hey really wanted to do was play with all of my toys in the house!  I saved the best of the toys from my my boys were little, and they had so much fun building star wars, G I Joe's, and Batman's.

These little guys sat and played for hours with my toys.  The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the cooler temps in the garage sitting around visiting, and swinging the boys!  We hung a swing in the third car stall of the garage and it is perfect entertainment in the shade!

Leaning over the edge of the G I Joe tub exploring, creating, and imagining!  Just like his daddy did when he was that age.

My view of happiness!

Last weekend when my sis in law and mother where visiting, one of them asked if B had crawled into the dog kennel yet?  He had not.  Mostly he is interested in playing in Teddies water bowl if you don't pick it up fast enough, and just playing with the kennel door.  Well, it finally happened.  We turned around from preparing lunch to see the back end of a diaper sticking out of the kennel.  He crawled himself in, and attempted to turn around, only to get somewhat stuck. Haha!  It was funny!  I'm sure this won't be his last attempt at the kennel!! Hard to believe this little fella turns one in three weeks!

I did finally get tons of photos edited and have plenty to share this week.  The weather has me thinking fall, and its so weird to wake up to 60 degrees in the mornings, and 80's for the days high.  They say this week will heat up into the 90's again, but we'll see!  How was your weekend?  Are you temps unseasonable too?
