This and That

August 13, 2012
My Mom has been here visiting since last Thursday. She leaves to go home today, and I have to return to work today.  We hit the ground running when she arrived, and didn't let up until last night!  We had a lot of things planned, and were able to accomplish them all!  It was a great visit, and I bet she is worn out!   So tonight I will be editing photos to share with you of what all we were up to, and answering emails,  but for now here's a peek of some of what we were up to this weekend!!

May Books

August 10, 2012

I am a planner, an organizer by nature.  So when I came across May Books I knew I had to have one.  Even better was the idea of a personalized book.  It is a perfect size for your bag to carry with you, and great to tuck into your cabinet if you use the meal planner.  I love that the pages are sewn in with a sewing machine, so I never have to worry about pages ripping out, or the cover falling off.  The covers are Green-e Certified Canvas Covers and are resilient, durable and water-resistant.  You can even recycle the entire book when you are finished!!

The May Books Story
Logo designer, Mica May, was always a notebook junkie - but couldn’t find the PERFECT one. On a whim, she began designing them for herself, with patterns + insides she wanted. Clients & friends wanted them too, so she threw some patterns up online and May Books was born nearly overnight.

There are  pattern and color choices for everyone.  You will want several notebooks. What great gifts the would make too!

Here are a few design examples I like!!

There are several choices for the pages in your May Book.  You can have lined, dotted, and even graph pages.  If you would rather choose a date book there are academic and yearly styles.  If your a meal planner, than there is a book for you too!  New mommy's are covered with a planner as well. See why I love them now?   I chose the academic.  I will use mine to keep all the activities and meetings that my son has school related in it. Keeps me organized to the max!   When I kept a calendar for all three boys, I would color code each boy with a different color in the same planner! I really think I need to order the meal planner as well!

So now for the fun part!  One lucky reader will get to design her own planner with a credit to May Books by entering to win below! Good luck!

Cotton Candy Clouds

August 09, 2012
This was the sky over my part of Kansas last night.  Beautiful cotton candy colors. It has been hot with temperatures still hanging around 100+.  A storm was brewing in the southwest and rolling in causing the temperatures to drop into the 80's.  Although it rained only a little bit, the drop in temperature was a relief.

My Mom is traveling today to visit for the next 4 days.  We have several things lined up to accomplish, one being the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday in downtown KC.  My sister who I wrote about here,  has a team.  We will also be taking a few outfit pics, and a few DIY projects!

Do you participate in the race? Are you a walker, runner, or neither?  I will most likely walk this year instead of run so I can visit with my sister and Mom, who neither one run!!

Color Block Maxi

August 08, 2012

Dress (similar) * Clutch Kslademade (similar) * Bracelet The Ropes Maine * Bracelet Bfrend *  Necklace Max and Chloe

I had no coach for this little outfit picture as you can see by my expression.  I don't have that same smile.  I look more like I am thinking "do you know what your doing with the camera?"   I had the BF take these on a trial basis, and he was as uncomfortable taking them as I was having him take them!!   Clearly out of all the shots these were the best ones I could use.  I must spend more time with Sandy and Meggy!

Cute dress, cute accessories, funky expression!!
