Batter up!

August 15, 2013
What better way to spend hump day then outside on a gorgeous day at the baseball stadium! One of our  vendors at the office had ticket to the Royals game and we were originally scheduled to go in May.  Well, the day of our game it snowed!  Yes, snowed in may.  Only in Kansas!  Yesterday was the reschedule of the Royals vs. the Marlins and the day was perfect!

We had dugout suite tickets, 80 degree weather, a fun group of girls from the office, and a delicious lunch.  They were even kind enough to accommodate Jenni and I with veggie burgers since we are not meat eaters.

Summertime is almost over, and I will be sad to see it pass.  I have alway been a summer girl, and love to spend my time in the sun, at the pool, and generally just outside.  There is something different to fall arrival this year.  Maybe the cooler temperatures we have been having is hurrying it along, but whatever it is I actually am excited to step into fall.

I started browsing pinterest for fall decorating ideas, and can't wait to get started on a few projects!  On another note, my baby starts school today.  Day one of his junior year.  I can't believe it is here.  So much happens in your junior year to prepare you for the final ride of this phase of life.  I hope he really stops and embraces these last years as a kid.  They always want to grow up so fast, then life shows them how hard it really is to be a grown up and there is no back button!

It's Thursday, and that means a fun feature tomorrow for you!

Four Favorites / White

Tote     Vest      Tee      Sunnies

White.  The absence of color.  It can be the scariest of things to wear, and yet the most crisp clean feeling too!  As much as I love color, white is alway a refreshing clean feeling.  I can remember when my boys were little, white was a forbidden thing.  White and boys do not go together!  Then, after so many years of not including it in my wardrobe, it was difficult to add back.  Silly huh?  Well I'm glad that phobia of mine is over, and I definitely have white in my wardrobe.

When I first heard todays theme was white, I knew a few essentials were in order.  This tote is beautiful and I love the large opening.  The zipper sides are a great feature and functional too.  Joe bought me a white pebble leather Coach bag the first year we dated and I carried that bag from Memorial day to labor day!   I loved it and still have it in the dust bag in my closet.  I think a white bag in your closet is a staple.

Now these are not my first pick of white sunnies, but they definitely are super cute.  The tortoise ear pieces are fab, and I love the round lens.  The pair I really love are more than I am ever going to spend on a pair of sunnies unless I win the lottery.  I could be halfway to another designer bag for the price of these sunnies.

At first glance at this vest it appears cream.  Well, have you really ever seen a hide that is true white?  Not very often, and at that it is to stark! So I am counting this creamy/white vest as a white favorite!  I would get miles of use out of this, and besides keeping me warm.  Can you just see the snow falling now?!  eekk, I can't believe I just said that!

Saving the most comfy, softest, live in tees of all time. Splendid!  I love. love. love. how soft their cotton is.  If you have never owned a Splendid tee, get after it now and add one to your closet.  You will thank me!

So what is a favorite white in your closet?  Spill the bean and let me know what you consider a white wardrobe staple, and don't forget, I am linking up with Ashlyn and Kristin!

It's late on Monday evening and I am editing my little heart out.  I have so many photos to share with you from outfit post, to all the pictures I took at last weeks Go Blog Social  event that was right here in Kansas City. I can't wait to share them this week, but for now I just have to share a few gems I have my eye on!

That my friends is the first statement necklace that I can honestly say I would wear.  Erin wore this on day two of the bloggers conference last week, and I actually threatened to push her down, grab it off her and run!  Yes, I love it that much.  Now If I could only find it.  J Crew is sold out of it, and I and not sure I can pay full price for it at Net A Porter!  Does anybody know where I can score this for a great price?  Help a sister out! It could be my first statement necklace here peeps!!  Please and Thank you!

Weekend Love

August 12, 2013

Happy Monday! Even though its a rainy dreary Monday, and I have sooo much work to do today, I am feeling refreshed and ready to get it going!  Things have been over the top stressed and busy behind the blog here lately, and my post have been sporadic to say the least and I am sorry!  I promise to get right back to my regular schedule!  Promise!

My Mom and sis in law were in town for the weekend and it was a great visit.  My sister in law has been in the family for over thirty years so she really is just like a sister!  She stayed at my house and we had the best time. My mom brought my birthday present and I was super excited to open up  a new Bamboo capture!  Joe immediately asked if I wanted him to open it up and he would show me how to use it!  Nice try to get to be the first to play with it!  As soon as my guest go home today, I will be busting it out and playing all night!  Thanks Mom!  I love it!

No visit with m sis in law is complete without good eating.  She too is eating very healthy and had a new recipe to try.  Now I know it doesn't look like much in this one pic, (I am not a food blogger) but let me tell you..... it was sooo good!  I will be posting the full recipe and pics later this week.  Because your curious, and it doesn't actually look like it, those are heirloom tomatoes! Yum!!

Sunday was the annual Susan G. Komen 5K and my sister's team once again had a great turnout!  We gathered at out team tent, enjoyed some healthy snacks, laughter, and perfect race day weather!  My mother, who is WINNING her cancer battle, (she has one treatment left next week for uterine cancer) Yea for strong women in my family, was not strong enough to walk the race, so we pushed her instead!  She was so cute with her hat, and sunglasses, we even thought we caught her napping along the way!

So whats been going on in your world?  I missed you guys!

School starts this week too! Are you ready?
