We are in the final stretch of Christmas! Can you believe it's one week away? Are you ready? I have a few items left to pick up and I am done. Next week is a short work week for most and I bet a lot of you will be traveling home for the holiday. The temperature has finally dropped into the 20's here in Kansas making it feel more like the holiday season. It fun to see everyones tree from their front window and the houses lit up on my drive home from work. This time next week I bet all the pretty wrapping, the perfectly placed packages under the tree, the fluffy bows and tissue will be in one big heap in the floor and your care for each gift you gave will be told. I remember growing up and opening presents on Christmas morning was always a joy.  What isn't always a joy is looking through photos of you as a kid on Christmas morning and looking like a hot mess.  When I had kids I started the tradition of letting them open one gift Christmas eve.  It was always the same..... new PJ's for the morning.  Ha, I got away with them thinking it was something awesome for a few years; then they caught on to me.  I still carried that tradition on until my boys moved away and started their own families.  What warms my heart is they have now started the tradition with their boys.

How To Shop With Groupon Coupons

It's no surprise I like to shop and shopping online is no exception.  Like most shoppers I also want to score the best deal possible.  Did you know Groupon offers coupons to some of your favorite place to shop?  Yes you read that right Groupon has coupons.  Unlike Groupon, there is no upfront purchase required to reap the benefits of saving.  Offering over 55,000 coupons  and promo codes totally free for the shopper, Groupon Coupons partners with more than 8,000 retailers to pass this savings on to you; top stores like Nordstrom, Express, Macy's, JC Penny, Nike and the list goes on. Taking a trip?  Search the site for deals with one of their partners Expedia, Hotwire or Travelocity.  I just returned from my trip to California and used Expedia for my hotel deal.   Rather shop in person?  you can also print some coupons off and take with you.  Many of these coupons are exclusive to Groupon Coupons. 
When you first open the webpage you will see their top coupons and offers. Who knows you may find deal you weren't looking for.  If a specific store is how you would rather shop, type the name in the search bar and it will bring up all the stores current offers.  I almost always search for an extra discount or coupon when shopping online.  

  I am a huge Nordstrom shopper, and Express.  If you remember this past fall I raved about my favorite pair of jeans, dress slacks and Portofino tops which are all from Express.  Adding a Groupon Coupon discount only makes my purchase that much nicer.   While I no longer have back to school shopping to do for my kids.... I do want to take advantage of the sales as well as the end of season sales.  Adding an additional discount to already sale items is a no brainer!!

You may search by store or category

If you don't find a discount for your item, look for a free shipping offers.  Sometimes that in itself is a 10% savings!

Shop around for your specific item and compare savings with other stores offering the same item. 

Watch for when the offer expires so you don't miss the deal

When Trapp and Company invited me to their store to select an outfit I was pleasantly surprised at their selection.  Upon first entering the store the smell of sweet floral encompassed me. Known for their gorgeous floral arrangements and Trapp Candles, it was no wonder the smell was so good. Once I made it thru the beautiful home décor to the women's department it became a color explosion. Comprised of a wide range of designers including Dizzie Lizzie, Trina Turk, Hobo, Bianca and Gretchen Scott, I found it difficult to not want one of everything. Their fashion department consists of colorful scarfs, handbags, jewelry and women’s ready to wear.  Literally you could put together your outfit from head to toe. With designs such as Julie Vos and Karin Sultane I was in heaven.  
Jane, a member of the retail department, was so helpful in assisting me with colors and styles. This is one of the outfits I selected... well actually Jane selected it and I loved it from the minute I put it on. It is also available in white, olive, and denim.  One of my favorite details to a great shopping experience is knowing you are not in a cookie cutter outfit; this is what makes Trapp and Company so unique.

With Mother's Day a little over two weeks away now is the time you should be thinking about how to honor all she really does for you.  If you are fortunate enough to have a mom like mine.... she would do anything for you.  She is the perfect example to show me and my sisters how to not only take care of yourself... but take care of your family as well.  When my boys were little I taught them the importance of showing appreciation to those you love and who help you in life.  One day they will be parents and all those life lessons they learned they would be grateful for.   I am proud of my boys and where they are headed.  Sure, there have been a few bumps along the way, but being their mother is the greatest joy ever.  So, treat your Mom, your Step-mom, Grandmother, or whoever is your female role model and let her know how much she means to you.

Ice Cream Party

Whether you are hosting an ice cream party, or need a fun gift, this basket is full of everything you could possibly need for an Ice Cream social.  Start by picking up a basket at your local Home goods, or of course Target!  Maybe you even have one laying around.   You don't necessarily even need to use a basket.  A colorful plastic tub, or wire basket will work too.  Most everything in the basket can be picked up at Super Target too. 

Shopping list:

 A single box sleeve of Oreos
Sugar Cones
Waffle Bowls
Caramel Sauce
Chocolate/Fudge sauce
Maraschino Cherries
Sprinkles
Chocolate Chips
Peanuts
Ice Cream Scoop
Ice cream cups

 Candies:

 Reeses Peanut butter cups
Malted Milk balls (Whoppers)
M&M's
Gummy Bears

Fill the bottom of the basket with scrunched up tissue to add a little padding and height to the smaller items.  Start at the back of the basket with the larger boxes and your ice cream cups and work your way forward.  Once you have the larger items in place add the jars of caramel, fudge sauce, sprinkles and cherries.  In cellophane gift bags, place a good amount of candy to be used for the toppings in them and tie them up with a colorful ribbon.  Do the same with your peanuts and chocolate chips.  Start tucking the bags of candies and toppings in the basket around the larger items and jars.   Split the cups into two stacks and place one in each front corner.  Tuck the scoop in you're done.  

This makes a great gift for a pool party, slumber party or how about your block party or holiday Bar-B-Que.  Where ever you decide to take it... rest assured it will be a big hit!  just don't forget the Ice Cream!!

As a hopeless romantic I love Valentines and the sentiment behind it.  I don't however believe in the cliche of the holiday.  On our very first valentines I remember Joe telling me  "no box of chocolates or bouquet of flowers can measure my love for you."  Those words have always stayed with me and we take the non traditional route and exchange more unique or special gifts.  I rounded up a few things I would love to receive!    Heck you know me… generally if it's pink I love it!

I'm keeping my wish list pretty simple this year. After all, it is WISH list right?  Not that any of this is going to show up under my tree, a girl can still wish!!  I have wanted this Blair Ritchey Lulu FOR EVER!  One day she will be mine, I know it!  These Frends headphones are perfect in the gold and white.  

So lets talk slippers, shall we?  LOVE, these Mara and Mine Skull slippers, and to be honest I was ready to get them a few weeks ago, but sadly they are sold out of many sizes. Lucky for me, they are pricy, and I would have to get a lot of miles out of them to justify it, but hey this is a wish list right? not a reality list! 

Oh these Loren Hope bracelets are the perfect link with the right amount of color for days you don't want to stack them on!
